Nine cases of Du blood group Recently Detected in Korean Red cross blood center

Abstract
In doing the Routine Test in Rho (D) grouping, special regard should be paid to the fact that there is the great possibility of misjudgment; in Rho (D) grouping unlike ABO grouping, it is impossible to do confirmatory test to make judgments by making already known A and B cells using with serum of Donor.
We, including the writer, have done the test on those who donated bloods to Red Cross Central Blood Center and tried to extract the frequency of Rho() types and D types among those Rho () types. We, hereby, report the some findings and give warnings as to doing Rho (D) grouping with Routine Test.
1. The test done by Red Cross Central Blood Center covering the period of Jan. 1983 to Dec. 1983 showed that 216(0.270) of 80,430 blood donors turned out to be of Rho() type.
2. Analogous 11 of 216 Rho() types turned out that 9 of them are Du¢¥s and the other two weak Rho.
3. Technical problems in Rho (D) grouping were searched for during the test done.
